University of Asia Pacific (UAP), Computer Science and Engineering Department in the next 18 and 19 November ACM-ICPC (International Collegiate Programming Contest) is going to organize the festival in Dhaka. The competition will be under the supervision of Jamilur Reza Chowdhury, vice-chancellor of the university.
Online pre-election this year, a total of 1 thousand 665 teams registered in the competition. Among them, 1 thousand 366 teams took part in the competition of 81 institutions. Last year, 75 organizations took part in 985 teams. The young programmers gradually increasing interest in the competition. First time in the history of Bangladesh ICPC 129 women's teams took part in the competition. Among them, 225 teams will take part in the main competition. The registration process has been started on October 4, will continue till November 3.
ACM-ICPC is the world's most prestigious team based programming contest. Since 1998 ACM-ICPC is the main phase of the competition, teams regularly participate at the various universities of Bangladesh. The winning team of Dhaka regional round of the competition will take part in the main competition that will be held in United States. The final round will be held on May 20 to 25 in South Dakota in the United States next year.
